Polypropylene Film

With over 100 different variation, Polypropylene Film is one of the most widely used films in the world. Non-orientated polypropylene (NOPP) has been around since the lat 50’s. NOPP films finds increasing applications in protecting stationary and archival products, like baseball cards, photos tec. This film is also used in the packaging of cheese, candies and other foods products where moisture barrier and grease resistances are essential.

(NOPP) Non Oriented Polypropylene

Polypropylene (PP) is a versatile thermoplastic polymer of propylene that finds wide acceptance in fiber, film and molding applications. There are differences between NOPP and OPP film. Where the OPP and BOPP film is stretched during manufacturing, results in significantly higher film strength, better optical and moisture barrier properties than NOPP. Most of the PP resins and films marketed in the U.S are in compliance with FDA regulations for food contact.

Application/Industry Area of Polypropylene Film

Clothing

Used for the fabrication of cold-weather base layers, such as long underwear, and long-sleeve shirts. Will also be used in clothing where moisture needs to be wicked away from your body due to sweat.

Medical

Polypropylene is often used for diapers or sanitary products where it is treated to absorb water rather than naturally repelling water. Polypropylene when configured in a mesh format is used in hernia and pelvic organ prolapsed repair operations.

Food & Beverage

Sealing of food and food packaging.  Ideal as a barrier film for blocking moisture, oxygen and light.

Decorative Packaging & Label stock Films

Used in promotional material, able to be printed in multi-color. Custom colors can be produce like a decorative tint with a mirror-like finish or metallic luster.

Medical Packaging

Printable medical ID bracelets for hospital, a antimicrobial coating can be applied to label stock for bacteria prevention. Often used in pharmaceutical and surgical packaging where infection control is needed.
